Arthur Leo(n) Barnett on Thursday, 11 March 2010 in Chevy Chase, MD. Born 17 June 1914 in New Orleans, LA, Arthur loved movies and worked in the motion picture industry all of his life. Son of the late Leon Barnett and Cleone Goldsmith (lifelong residents of New Orleans, LA). Husband of the late Betty Weil. He is survived by his daughters: Ellen Barnett Cleary of San Francisco, CA and "Beth" Elizabeth Frances Barnett [Jon Griffin] of Chevy Chase, MD.; his grandchildren: "Todd" Thomas Barnett Cleary [Jessica Mendels] of San Francisco, CA, Wyatt Wagner Barnett of Washington, DC, Lauren Barnett Wagner [Karim Sarsif] of London, England; his step-grandchildren: Candida Griffin Baker of Lynchberg, VA and Jeffrey Griffin of Rockville, MD.; his great-granddaughter, "Katie" Katherine Violet Cleary of San Francisco, CA and his stepgreat-grandson, Keith McKenzie Baker of Lynchberg, VA. Arthur was the grandson of the late Joseph Isaac Barnett and Hannah Pauline Goldstein and the late Louis Goldsmith and Clara Klein, brother of the late Helene Barnett Gordon. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral conducted by Rabbi Robert Loewy of Congregation Gates of Prayer at the Prytania Theater, 5339 Prytania St., New Orleans, LA on 9 April 2010 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will precede the funeral from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Dispersed of Judah Cemetery, 3900 block of Canal St. corner N. Anthony, New Orleans, LA.
