Obituary of Peter Liang

Peter Liang died on Sunday December 12, 2010, at Manor Care Nursing Center in Chevy Chase, MD. He was 84 years old, and died of natural causes. He moved to Silver Spring, MD, in 2005 from Palo Alto, CA, where he had been living for 40 years. Mr. Liang was born in China, and later moved to Hong Kong, where he met his wife, Patricia. They later emigrated to the United States. After retirement as an executive with IBM, Mr. Liang learned Chinese calligraphy and to play the guitar, but his passion was playing golf, and he enjoyed playing with his friends and his daughter. He also enjoyed traveling, philosophizing about politics and the meaning of life over cups of coffee, and spending time with his granddaughter. He loved his family, and had a fondness for his son-in-law's home-brewed beer. He is survived by his wife Patricia Liang, daughter Debra Liang-Fenton, son-in-law Daniel Fenton, and granddaughter Isabel Fenton. The family will have a private memorial service in Palo Alto, CA.
