Kenneth Anthony Petrick, 61, beloved husband of Cynthia Petrick, passed away peacefully May 29th, 2011. A native of McKeesport, PA, he is the dearly loved son of the late John and Mary Petrick. A graduate of Indiana University-Pennsylvania where he was an active member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity, Ken subsequently received his Masters Degree in Economics from Penn State University. Upon graduation he and his wife of 40 years, Cynthia, settled in Wheaton, MD. As an economist, Ken had a distinguished career of 32 years analyzing corporate profits at the Department of Commerce-Bureau of Economic Analysis. An active volunteer in Washington DC area golf, Ken has been a Hole Captain for innumerable local and national events, most notably the former Kemper Open, The AT&T National, multiple Presidents Cups, and 2 US Opens. A long standing member of Argyle County Club in Silver Spring, Ken actively organized, and participated in competitive team golf throughout the region. Ken's vast circle of friends and acquaintances were as numerous and diverse as his interests. From his appreciation of wine, sports, travel, food, and all things Penn State, people found Ken to be one of those unique individuals everyone enjoyed spending time with.
