Obituary of Betty Jane Crago

Betty Jane Crago of Washington, DC died peacefully on January 7, 2014. She was born in Mauch Chunk (Jim Thorpe) PA and graduated from Beaver College (now Arcadia University), becoming a Christian educator in New York. A devoted Presbyterian, she served Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church, National Capital Presbytery, Synod of the Chesapeake, and PC USA as well as volunteering with other charitable organizations such as Community Ministries of Montgomery County (now Interfaith Works). An avid gardener and flower arranger, she found joy in preparing flowers for her home and others as well as with the Sumner Garden Club. She co-owned an antique business, Antique Accents for a number of years. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Betty Jane was pre-deceased by her loving husband, Bob Crago, in 2002. The two enjoyed 52 years together raising their family, traveling, and continuing their church work. For the past 9 years she has lived at Ingleside at Rock Creek. She is survived by her sister, Skip Winters of Sterling Junction, MA, her daughters, Cathy Crouch of Washington, DC and Peggy Morrison of Falls Church, and grandchildren Ian and Kayla Morrison and Jessica and Lindsay Crouch. A memorial service will be held on January 15, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church. Memorial donations can be made to the Christian Education Lecture series at Chevy Chase Presbyterian Church or to the Alzheimer's Association.
