Obituary of Matilda Sylvia Steinhardt

Matilda Sylvia Steinhardt, resident at Leisure World Silver Spring, died unexpectantly in her home, on ?Thursday, ?November 10, 2016. Born? in 1917, in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Sol and Dora Weinstein, she married Irving Steinhardt (deceased in 2003) in 1941. They settled in Washington DC, raising their family. She is survived by her son, Howard and his companion, Janet Levenberg; her, daughter?, Doris (Garry) Cohen; her four grandchildren, Kara (Andrew) Paulson, Erin (Leah) Steinhardt, Marc (Kelsey) Steinhardt, and Lauren Steinhardt, and five great grandchildren. ?Matilda known as Matty, worked for the federal government as a secretary for over 30 years. She and Irving retired to Florida in 1979, and Matty returned to the DC area in 2004. ?Memorial gifts may be made to the ALS Association. There will be no services.?
