Obituary of Lorraine May Hunter

Lorraine (Lori) May Hunter passed away on April 23, 2018, in Silver Spring, MD. She was born on December 15, 1955, in Binghamton, NY. She was pre-deceased by her beloved husband, Stephen Hunter, her parents, Harry Hill and Ida Hill, her step-mother Cynthia Hill, her brother, Douglas Hill, her sister, Patricia Bohrer, her precious cats, Ayla and Oberon, and her dog, Duke. She is survived by her two sisters, Janeen Williams and Teresa (Michael) Mercado, one niece, Amy (Anthony) Manning, six nephews, James Hill, Scott (Sarah) Williams, Sean Nicholson, Jonathon Hill, Ryan Nicholson, Joshua Nicholson and Jeremy Bohrer, one great niece, Jessa Manning and four great nephews, Jordan Manning, Jayden Manning, Jason Manning and Seth Williams. Lorraine previously worked at Geico Insurance, Suburban Hospital and most recently before she retired, she worked for the Social Services Department of Montgomery County, Maryland, helping those who were not quite able to help themselves. She loved to make jewelry from scratch for her friends and family and one could always find her playing games on her computer with her friends. When she was younger, she would travel all over the country by herself just for fun, never worrying about running into trouble, no matter where she went. Lorraine met a lot of people over the years through various AA groups that developed into not just a great support system, which helped her stay sober for nearly two decades, but into long-lasting friendships. She was fortunate enough to have her best friend of 40+ years, Marilyn Wynn, at her side in her final moments. Lorraine will be greatly missed by her family and friends. There will not be a memorial service but if you would like to donate to the ASPCA, one of Lorraine's passions, please do so, in her honor at https://www.aspca.org.
