Obituary of Jack David Presnall

J. David Presnall, 85, died April 24, 2018 in Silver Spring, Maryland from complications of dementia. David was born July 28, 1932 in Yosemite National Park where his parents Ruby Violet Davis Presnall and Clifford Charles Presnall were employees of the National Park Service. His early years in Yosemite, Bryce and Zion National Parks were a source of pride and inspiration throughout his life. The family eventually settled in Bethesda, Maryland. He joined the Army after graduating from Bethesda-Chevy Chase High School and earned an associates degree from Montgomery College. He worked as a model builder for David Taylor Model Basin, and then as an electrician for the FAA and the Defense Department. He also served in the Marine Reserves. After retirement, David moved to Coles Point, Virginia to help his mother on their waterfront farm. He was a dedicated Methodist layperson especially active in the United Methodist Church of Coles Point, Virginia. David is survived by his brother Dean Presnall (Barbara), a niece Eva Presnall, a nephew Aaron Presnall (Biljana), a grandniece, Tara Presnall, a grandnephew Zachary Presnall and many friends. All those who knew him will miss his gentle goodness.
