I am friends with Fran's wonderful daughter. Thus, I was lucky enough to meet Fran when I was so very young- Cephas too but that is another love story for me. What a wonderful time to meet such a beautiful, intelligent and kind woman. Her joie de vivre was absolutely contagious and much relied on in my different stages of adulthood. We shared a love of food, but I was awestruck by her extraordinary ability to prepare food while making it look so easy. She was such a special woman, even...

Fran was a friend, neighbor in idyllic Cabin John and book club colleague. Our book and dinner club was a highlight of her later life where her opinions were highly sought after and her meals extraordinary. I will never forget one very special lobster casserole. Frans contributions were many and I will miss her terribly.

Fran was a light in the life of my late wife Roberta and me ever since we were first married 54 years ago. Roberta knew and loved Fran from childhood in New Haven. We saw each other many times in Cabin John over the years and always loved visiting Fran and Ceph. I send loving thoughts to Martha and Nate. Your Mom was a wonderful person and had a full life. We'll all miss her.

I knew her only late in life, mostly at Riderwood. As the husband of her close friend Susan (Robertson) Loewen, we interacted mostly at dinner or the "Ticket to Ride" table, but we connected more deeply through our love of poetry and of social justice. Fran had a "good death," but I shall miss her intelligence and humor nevertheless.
