Hi first allow me to send to your family my deepest sympathy upon the death of your mother. I am sorry that it has taken me this long to write a note, but sometimes words cannot express how one feels. It is never easy dealing with the death of a loved one.
My name is Dan Briggs and I am from Saint John, N.B.,Canada. My grandmother was Alva Lane McFarlane Briggs and she was a sister to your grandmother.
From what I have been told by my uncle, is that Pat came to Saint John some years...

My deepest condolence go out to you on the lost of your mother. Your mother had accomplished so much in life. It was wonderful reading about her life. I never met your mother, but she was a 1st cousin to my dad, Robert Roberg. My grandmother was Irene McFarlane Roberg, your mother's aunt, sister to your grandmother. Again our sympathies go out to you. Your mother's memories will always live on. Feel free to contact me.

Maggie and Mike. I was so sorry to hear of Pat's death recently and I was out of town during the funeral. I wish I could have spoken with each of you....I thought Pat was so special! She was a woman way ahead of her time and a real role model for me. I met her when I first moved to this area, had just gone through a divorce and was making a "new" life. I can't express how much she helped me to do that just by being who she was. She was so smart, thoughtful, had such an...

Trying to describe the essence of Aunt Pat is like trying to explain how an atom functions - so many intriguing facets and layers, and all expressed with such passion and energy. Like a toy, I think God wound her up just to see what she would do. A special package. Incredibly strong, yet vulnerable, undeniable like the incoming tide. Sequential mirth and fire, barely constrained power, humble, inquisitive, focused, yet broadminded, a person you could live vicariously through. The last of my...

I was saddened to read of Pat 's death. I met her soon after I joined the NAS staff more than 50 years ago, and I still remember her friendliness and kindness to me. She was a very nice lady.

I have always felt a closeness to Pat after meeting her soon after she moved to Asbury at an AAUW meeting and in getting acquainted, found she had been a good friend of my former supervisor at NBS (now NIST) and that her husband had been a scientist at NBS before his death. Over the years our friendship developed and she joined me at Standards Alumni events and often saw some of her husband's former co-workers. She soon became active in our AAUW Branch and served as our membership chair for...
