Yesterday, I learned of dear Miki's untimely death in the University of Wisconsin's Badger Magazine. Miki and I attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison together but met each other in person at the University of Chicago, SSA in the fall of 1964.
I had hoped to reconnect with this caring and truthful woman at one of the upcoming reunions.
Please accept these very tardy but heartfelt condolences to all of Miki's family and friends.
This is sent in loving...

I will really miss Miki. We had a professional bond through adoptions for over 30 years. More importantly, we had a friendship over all these years which I treasured. Miki would call me or I would call her at least a couple of times a year just to chat. I loved to receive her calls because I could always feel her radiant smile over the phone. Miki always used her many talents and skills to help people, especially children. You made life better for all those whose heart you touched.

I am sorry to hear of Miki's death. I was fortunate to have worked with her many times over the years. She was an intelligent and caring person who was never too busy to help and always knew the right answer. There are few like her in the world. She will be missed.

I felt a pang of sadness tinged with many memories when I read Miki's obituary. She, Martha and Carolina were probably the most important people in my life in the mid 1980s when I adopted my daughter from Paraguay. I knew that she had children she cherished, and was happy to read that she led such a fulfilling life. She certainly made the world a better place for me and my daughters.

I'm sorry to hear of Mikki's passing. I knew her from CFSA when she was working on a project for border babies. I worked with her to come up with a way to make more of the children eligible for federal adoption subsidy. She was excited when we found a solution.

I am so sad to hearing that Miki is no longer with us anymore. I had the pleasure of working with Miki at SAMHSA in 2001-2002 and I found her to be a wonderful colleague who worked hard, was a great team member, brought a balanced world-view to every situation, and was always fair and professional. Miki also had a great sense of humor and kindness, and she taught me many valuable lessons as I began my career in the Federal government. She was one of those people who made the world a better...

Miki was a former colleague at State Department. We formed a special bond from day one of meeting in 2005. She and I enjoyed many laughs together. I will never forget her and the wonderful times that we had together. She was an amazing and special person and the world was indeed a better place thanks to her. May she rest in peace.
