Obituary of Novella Delores Cain

Novella, Age 76, who worked as a medical Technologist for Washington Adventist Hospital (WAH) for 45 years, died Thursday November 20, 2014 in her home with her family by her side. Death was due to heart failure from diabetic compilations. Novella was born July 9, 1938 in Indian Rocks, Florida to Everett William Potter and Vida Marie Ransone (Potter) Ahlgrim. She graduated from Forest Lake Academy in 1956. She attended Washington Missionary College and (WAH) Laboratory internship in 1959 – 1960. Novella worked as serology Supervisor in WAH Laboratory and was also on staff at Columbia Union College (CUC) where she taught renal physiology in the 1970s. From 1970 -1976, she worked alongside her husband Reggy, with the San Constellations Pathfinder Club. Novella is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 16 years, Reginald Leon Cain. Survived by her sister Yvonne Ashcraft of North Carolina; her daughter, Janet Faughander of West Virginia; her son Leroy Cain of Maryland; grandchildren, Robert Swan; Jennifer Plumer; and Andrew Faughander; Three great grandchildren. Novella retired from WAH in 2007. She enjoyed gardening; woodworking; knitting and crafts; spending time with family and friends, and a wonderful relationship with God. The time and date of the memorial service will be announced a t the Takoma Park Seventh-Day.
