Obituary of Louis Andre Garnett

Louis was born on September 21, 1928 in Richmond, VA to Mary Garnett and Louis Garnett, Sr. On December 1, 2015 Louis died peacefully in his home in Washington, DC. He shared his childhood with his deceased brother Bernard Garnett, and his cousins. He received his early education from parochial schools in Washington, DC, then graduated from Phleps Senior High School. He continued his education taking courses at St. Paul's College in Lawrenceville, VA. Louis worked and retired from the Government Printing Office. Louis met and married Amanda McCoy on July 24, 1954, they had three daughters, the late Andrea Garnett, Cassandra Phillips, Dr. Michelle Garnett (Dr. Andrew Caines). Louis loved life and experienced it to the fullest. His hobbies included fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed the company of many friends. Many people knew Louis for his fun personality. On December 1, 2015, Louis passed from this life. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Andrea Garnett, and brother Bernard Garnett. Louis leaves to cherish his memories: Wife: Amanda McCoy Garnett, daughters: Alicia Taylor, Cassandra Phillips, Dr. Michelle Garnett (Dr. Andrew Caines) grandchildren: Idris Ahmed, LaToya Hill (Micah Hill), Danielle Davis, Brittany Phillips, Ashley Phillips, Tyson Caines, and Marshall Caines, great-grandchildren: Aiden Hill and Ethan Hill, Step sisters: Mildred Lambert, Martha Wilson, Barbara Davis and a host of cousins and many friends.
