Obituary of Julius W. Schneider

Julius W. (Jay) Schneider of Bethesda, Maryland, passed away peacefully at his home on February 9, 2017. Born in West Hazleton, Pennsylvania on June 27, 1943, he was the son of the late Julius (Red) Schneider and Eleanor (James) Schneider. Jay was a 1961 graduate of West Hazleton High School and a 1965 graduate of Yale University. He also completed graduate work at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Schneider married the former Arlene Frumin, who preceded him in death. They are survived by their son Ted Schneider of Chicago, Illinois, daughter and son-in-law, Paige and A.J. Emerson, of Silver Spring, Maryland, and grandchildren Annie and Cady Emerson. Jay was a CPA with Price Waterhouse early in his career, then worked as a recruiter and HR consultant in the professional services industry. He was also an active member of Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Church where he served on the board and sang in the choir for many years. Mr. Schneider is survived by his brothers, James A. Schneider and Thomas Schneider. Memorial Services will be held on April 29, 2017 at Cedar Lane in Bethesda, Maryland. Donations in memory of Jay may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
