Obituary of Ronald Russell Walts

Ronald Russell Walts Born January 26,1938 in Louisville Kentucky to Russell and Amzel Walts of Buchel, KY.

As a teenager, he was a volunteer fireman and president of his senior class at Fern Creek High School 1956. It was there he met his high school sweetheart and future wife Judy Foster.
He graduated from The University of Kentucky with a degree in mathematics.
 
Mr. Walts served in the US Army and was stationed at Fort Sill, OK. After the time of his service, the majority of his career was with Honeywell Computer Systems for over 40 years. Ron was on the forefront working with the first commercial computers.

His last 5 + years at Honeywell, he worked side by side with the top people at NASA on the Space Shuttle Launch Team. He retired in 1998 and devoted more time to his passion for playing golf and rooting for the UK Wildcats Basketball team.

He is survived by his wife Judy of 65 years and two daughters and their spouses :Tracy Spencer (Tom) and Terrie Tyrie (Stuart)
Three grandchildren: Everett Tyrie (Lauren), Gwen Tyrie and Meredith Spencer, Sister Corine Richmer and brother Philip Walts.
