Obituary of Sylvia Nazario

Sylvia Yvette Nazario, 55, of Silver Spring, MD, passed away on November 13, 2023. She was born on March 7, 1968, in Fort Campbell, Kentucky, United States. Sylvia was a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and godmother. She was selfless and caring, always putting others before herself. Sylvia had a sense of adventure and loved to travel, immersing herself in different cultures. She had a delightful sense of humor and was always making others laugh with her jokes. Sylvia was a hard worker who dedicated 31 years of her life as an Emergency Dispatcher for the Office of United Communications. Her role was crucial in dispatching first responders during 911, and she was recognized for her rapid response with a trip to San Francisco. Since 2016, she became an integral part of Better World Builders (BWB), which aided and provided services to the homeless. Sylvia was a strong and independent single mother who went above and beyond to provide the best life for her daughters and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She is survived by her daughters Carmen Kingsbury, Natalie Kingsbury, and Bria Rogero, as well as her mother Eusebia Diaz. Sylvia also leaves behind her siblings Jose Manuel Nazario Diaz, Jose Miguel Nazario Diaz, Vanessa Nazario Diaz, and Carmen Nazario Diaz. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces Alana Nazario and Abigail Figueroa, and her cherished grandchildren Ciel Logan and Nehemie Elad. Sylvia had a passion for crocheting, traveling, baking, cooking, spending time with her grandkids, and being a dedicated Seahawks fan. She also enjoyed reading in her spare time. She worshipped at St. John the Evangelist Church. A Catholic service to celebrate Sylvia's life will be held on November 21, 2023 at 11am. The Service will take place at St. John the Evangelist Church, located at 10103 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20902. Following the service, there will be a viewing and burial at Cementerio Monte Calvario in Caguas, Puerto Rico. The address for the cemetery is Carretera 189 KM 2.2, Caguas, Puerto Rico 00725, United States (coordinates: 18.24088, -66.01559). In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Sylvia's memory to Martha's Table, NAMI, or the Lupus Foundation of America. The funeral arrangements are being handled by Rapp Funeral & Cremation Services in Silver Spring, MD. Sylvia Yvette Nazario will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, selflessness, and dedication will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace.
