Obituary of James Ivan Barrett

James Ivan Barrett, age 88, passed away in his home on March 7, 2019. He was born on June 18, 1930 to James Ivan Barrett Sr. and Elizabeth Nicholson. Jim was a loyal husband to Judith Kaye Barrett and a loving father to Debra Eileen Barrett, both of whom unfortunately predeceased him. He also was the loving brother to Betty Lou Barrett, who also predeceased him. Moving to his current residence in 1963, Jim was a long-time resident of Takoma Park, MD. Jim certainly led an interesting life as he flew a Piper Cub during his career as an air courier. He was also an avid HAM radio enthusiast and licensed operator. He is survived by his three nephews: Robert Hirschberg Jr (wife Linda), Michael Hirschberg (wife Melissa), and John Hirschberg (widowed) as well as six great nephews and nieces. His family plan to schedule a memorial service for James at a later date.
